You've all heard of 'The Masked Singer,' the singing show that asks: "Who is behind the mask?" Well, now, Westfall Elementary has 'The Masked Reader'! Teachers and staff donned masks (and voice filters) while reading their favorite books. Our students are having some fun guessing who is behind the mask! Join us at our Literacy event, Snacks & Snippets, on Wednesday, January 29, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, where the identities of our WES Masked Readers will be revealed!

Westfall Local School District campus will be closed to all activities and events on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Events that were initially scheduled have been rescheduled to the following: Westfall Elementary School Student of the Month Breakfast will now be held on Wednesday, January 29 at 8:00 AM. Westfall Middle/High School College Credit Plus Information Meeting will now be held on Wednesday, January 29 at 6:00 PM.

CURRENT Kindergarten Families: Due to the screening process for prospective 2025-2026 kindergarten students, there will be NO SCHOOL for all current kindergarten students on Friday, April 11, and Friday, April 25. Preschool and Grades 1-5 will continue as scheduled.

If you have a child who will be five years old on or before July 31, 2025, they are eligible to attend Kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year. Please call the Westfall Elementary Office at (740) 986-4008 to schedule an appointment.

The Westfall Local School District Calendar for the 2025-2026 school year was recently approved by the Board of Education on January 13, 2025. This calendar can also be found on our district website under Explore > Calendars.

Westfall Local Schools is sponsoring a districtwide Hat Day on Friday, January 17. Students can bring in $1 to wear a hat to school!

RANDY'S BACK! We love visits from Randy, the therapy dog, and his handler, Chase Bergoon, from the Pickaway County Sheriff's Office. They returned yesterday to visit with elementary school students. Thank you, Randy and Chase, for stopping by!

Marcus McKean, Emma's dad, visited Mr. Payne’s Kindergarten classroom for a Workshop with Dads! He read "Click, Clack, Moo: Cows that Type" before helping the students create cow portraits to take home! Twice a month, Mr. Payne’s class invites fathers, grandfathers, or any special father figure to join the class and enjoy an engaging and memorable classroom workshop. The workshop involves reading a favorite children’s book or helping with a simple craft project. This initiative celebrates the role fathers play in their children’s lives and encourages their involvement in our school community. Thank you, Mr. McKean, for joining us!

The Boys' Varsity Basketball team stopped by Westfall Elementary on Friday to read to our students! They chatted with the students, read a basketball-themed book, and posed for some photos! The impact of having student-athletes in the classroom creates role models that our young Mustangs can aspire to be as they get older.

In an abundance of caution due to frigid temperatures in the forecast for tomorrow morning and the ongoing conditions of secondary roads, Westfall Local Schools will be operating on a two-hour delay on Friday, January 10, 2025. Bundle up, drive carefully, and stay safe, Mustangs!
