This week, Mrs. Davey's 8th-grade Language Arts students are not only diving into the incredible story of "Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie" by Jordan Sonnenblick, but they're also spreading some love and positivity!
The story follows the life of 13-year-old Steven, a young man navigating the challenges of middle school when his world is turned upside down after le his younger brother, Jeffrey, is diagnosed with leukemia. The story blends humor and heart and emphasizes the impact that illness can have on a family.
To make a difference in the lives of young patients at Nationwide Children's Hospital, Mrs. Davey's students sent out heartfelt greeting cards filled with messages of hope and encouragement. What a wonderful way to connect their reading with real-life impact!
Thank you, Mrs. Davey, for teaching your students the importance of kindness and empathy!

Attention students! Help us fight hunger in our community! Bring a non-perishable food item to the gate before Friday's game, and you’ll get $1 off your student admission! Every can counts, and your support makes a difference! Spread the word, and let’s make this drive a success!
