Westfall Education Foundation is accepting nominations for the 2024 Teacher Appreciation Grant at https://forms.gle/LJScsBn5znSpriEM9.
The Teacher Appreciation Grant will be awarded to three teachers from each school—WES, WMS, and WHS—in the amounts of $500, $300, and $100. The grant funds must be spent on classroom resources that directly impact student needs.
The deadline for entry is April 26, 2024.
With many district roads flooded due to the recent storms, Westfall Local Schools will be operating on a 2-hour delay on Wednesday, April 3. As a result, there will be no AM preschool. We will continue to monitor the road conditions and keep you informed if there are any further schedule changes.
UPDATE: Our phone lines have been restored district-wide. Thank you for your patience during this outage.
REMINDER: There will be NO SCHOOL Thursday, March 28 - Tuesday, April 2, for Spring Break. Classes will resume on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.
Miss Haberthier's preschool classes had a hopping good time with Assistant Principal Ms. Wolfe and SRO Deputy Hamlin yesterday! The two stopped in to visit with the AM and PM Preschool classes and help them create cute bunny art just in time for the upcoming holiday!
Currently, the phone lines at Westfall Local Schools are down due to a power outage overnight. However, our technology department is aware of the situation and is working with Frontier Communications to get us back up and running. In the meantime, if you need to contact one of our offices, please use the following phone numbers:
District Office number (740) 831-0410
High School number (740) 831-0411
Middle School number (740) 831-0412
Elementary School (740) 831-0413
We apologize for the inconvenience and will post again when service is restored.
Reminder: With the rare total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024, casting parts of Ohio into temporary darkness, Westfall Local School District is proactively adjusting its academic calendar for the safety of its students and staff.
As the eclipse coincides with many schools' dismissal times, we understand the potential traffic concerns. Following guidance and consultation with local law enforcement agencies, Westfall Local Schools has decided to cancel school for students and staff on Monday, April 8, 2024, to ensure everyone's safety during this unique celestial event.
We understand this schedule change may impact families' plans for the day. However, our top priority is always the safety and well-being of our students and staff.
For more information about the Total Solar Eclipse, including how to view it safely, please visit https://science.nasa.gov/eclipses/future-eclipses/eclipse-2024/.
All three classroom wings met their Right to Read Week reading goals last week! As a reward for their hard work, they enjoyed a visit from Inspiration Station, the new hands-on museum coming soon to Circleville. Student volunteers were challenged to build a foam dinosaur skeleton without instructions and test their handwashing skills under the black light! Thank you, Pickaway County Community Foundation (PCCF), for visiting with our students today and gifting them with a foam puzzle of their own!
REMINDER: There will be NO SCHOOL Thursday, March 28 - Tuesday, April 2, for Spring Break. Classes will resume on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.
