GREAT NEWS! THE MOBILE DENTIST IS COMING BACK!
Our school has again collaborated with Smile Programs, the Mobile Dentists, to offer in-school dental care. The Mobile Dentists will visit Westfall Elementary School for the second time on May 22 and May 23, 2023. During this visit, they will offer restorative treatment (i.e., cavity fillings, etc.)
You can sign up for your child today at https://www.myschooldentist.com/32632_SCHSRM or return the completed permission form to be sent home with your child in April.
Dental care includes a complete dental exam, x-rays, cleaning, fluoride, sealants when necessary, and sometimes restorative care such as fillings.

On Friday, Westfall Elementary held an assembly to kick off the April Incentive. Members of the Building Leadership team challenged students during the month of April to earn 30 tickets by showing kindness toward others, going above and beyond each day, producing quality work, showing cooperation and perseverance, and doing things without being asked. Students who earn the 30 tickets will be treated to an ice cream sundae! Six students were chosen during the assembly to put a pie in Mr. Jude's and Mr. Kevin's faces to kick off the incentive!
Mrs. Whitt’s & Miss Wolfe’s third-graders took their math lesson outside to measure the MLB regulation distance from home plate to the pitcher’s mound (60 feet) and from home plate to first base (90 feet). Then they challenged the students to throw a pitch and run the distance!
Congratulations to our March Staff Members of the Month!
Jodi Butcher, Educational Aide
Allison Zombek, First-Grade Teacher
Erica Whitt, Third-Grade Teacher
Morgan Persinger, Intervention Specialist
Jackie Eitel, Fourth-Grade Gifted Teacher

WES Field of Dreams is hosting a hat day on Thursday, March 30 for $1!
Learning can be messy but so much fun! Students in Miss Rawlings' class had a great time creating quadrilaterals in shaving cream yesterday!
Miss Rawlings' fourth-grade class solved the mystery of whoDunnit while working on geometric vocabulary at the same time. The kids learned characteristics about each "suspect" and found clues to determine who committed the crime in her classroom!
2nd grade families: We are just TWO WEEKS away from our music program! The students have been working super hard for this and are so excited to show it to you! Doors open at 6:30pm. No ticket needed. Program will begin promptly at 7:00pm. Hope to see you there!
As a part of National Library Week, the Pickaway County Library is hosting a Bookmark Contest from March 17-April 17. Students in grades K-12 are welcome to print the page below, design a bookmark & turn it into any branch (Main, Outreach, Younkin).

As part of a St. Patrick's Day celebration, students in Miss Stage's second-grade class used their design skills to build leprechaun traps with supplies from the makerspace or creation station. They designed a plan, created a prototype, tested it, and made changes for improvement. The creativity was amazing!
Mrs. Zombek's first-graders have been busy with an 'EGG’-cellent lesson about chicks. They studied the stages of development, put eggs in an incubator, and created a weekly egg check log to observe and document what happens until the big day arrives! Hatching Day! How exciting!
Addition Rainbow STEM challenge! Students in Mrs. Stonerock's kindergarten class earned a Fruit Loop for every math question they answered correctly. They were only given a pipe cleaner and play dough to construct a colorful rainbow, using only a picture to guide them.
REMINDER: Spring Picture Day is Tuesday, March 21! Order forms for individual and class photos were sent home last week. You can also order online by going to www.mylifetouch.com. To order individual photos, use code: EVTTXTCNQ; to order class photos, use code: EVTZXNJTV.

CURRENT Kindergarten Families: The end of the school year will look a little different! Due to the screening process for prospective 2023-2024 kindergarten students, the last day of school for all current kindergarten students will be Thursday, May 25, at regular dismissal time.
